Ruby is a freelance Hair and Makeup Artist with over four years of experience working in film, television and theatre. Her love of science fiction and fantasy is what first put her on the path of pursuing a career in this exciting industry. Following her graduation from the University of York in 2019, she trained in Special Effects and Prosthetics with Creative Media Skills at Pinewood. Ruby is always eager to take on exciting projects involving SFX Makeup and was thrilled to start working on BBC Casualty in 2023.
Ruby is also proficient in makeup application and hair styling, after having studied at The Bath Academy of Media Makeup as well as the Christine Blundell Makeup Academy. During her training, Ruby developed a passion for hair styling that has been invaluable in her career going forward. Her interest in period hair styling and textured hair has proven essential, especially in Crowd Rooms for productions such as The Witcher: Blood Origin and Bridgerton (Season 3).
